Travelling time: 35mins
Leaving Carlisle at 12:25pm I was in Annan by 1:00pm. The M6 was slow over the Cumberland Gap but there was no problems on the A75. Parking was found in a caravan park right by the ground which only cost £1.00.
Pre-Match
I had arranged during the weeks before the game to be allowed pitch-side to take photos of the match so I met with the Club Secretary who confirmed this was still ok. Other than a walk around the ground there was very little to do as I didn't fancy a drink in the club bar as I was driving.
Stadium
Annan's ground is a typical ground for a non-league club. There is shallow terracing on three sides with a small (400 ish capacity) seated stand on one length of the pitch. It meet their needs though and there is room to expand and improve should they need to.
Admission
It cost £5.00 for adults for this fixture but I was able to gain free entry due to taking the photos.
Programme
£1.00 got you a 36 page programme.
Food and Drink
There was a hut where food was available though I had eaten some sandwiches before leaving for the game so didn't try anything.
The Game
Rangers ran out 4-1 winners and it could have been more.
Home Fans
There was good home support with an estimated 500 there supporting the Scottish League newcomers. There was no chanting throughout the game however.
Away Fans
I would think 250 were supporting the Scottish Giants- like the home fans there was no chanting.
Stewards / Police
I didn't notice any police and the stewards were excellent- very friendly.
The Ref
Being behind a camera it was difficult to know what kind of a game the ref had.
The Journey Home
Travelling time: 35mins
Getting away from the ground was very quick and I was home by 4:30pm.
