Travel to match
Method of Travel: Car
Travelling time: 35mins
I left Carlisle at 1:10pm and was parked up on a street near to the ground at 1:45pm. There seemed to be very limited parking close to the ground and I'm glad I arrived quite early.
Pre-Match
I headed straight into the ground as there is nothing to do outside and spent most of the pre-match talking to the very friendly stewards. All had a great passion for the club and had volunteered to steward the match.
Stadium
The ground has had some work completed on it since my last visit a few
weeks ago. New turnstiles have been erected as had the new floodlights.
Admission
As I am taking photos I was given a season press pass so this didn't cost me anything.
Programme
£3.00 got you a 44 page programme- I'm not sure if this was a special as it was the first home game in the Scottish League but it is fairly poor for the price. However it is likely to be one of the (if not the) best in the league.
Food and Drink
I tried to get a pie in the away end food hut but there wasn't any at half-time.
The Game
The game was fairly even and one of very few chances with a draw being a fair result.
Home Fans
It was a great turnout of home fans although I was surprised that like
the pre-season game I attended there was no chanting- just polite applause.
Away Fans
There was around 60 ish Stenhousemuir fans in the North End away end and
a few of them were getting behind their side before the match.
Stewards / Police
Once again the stewards were excellent- they are some of the friendliest I've ever met at a match and it certainly makes a difference to the overall day. As this was the club's first home game in the league there was a few policewomen present but as expected they had a very quiet afternoon.
The Ref
From the little I seen of the game without being behind the camera the referee was poor, making some very odd decisions at times.
The Journey Home
Travelling time: 35mins
As previous getting back onto the A75 after the game and then to the M6 was very quick and I was home at 5:30pm.
