West Bromwich Albion Ground Tour
Date: Tuesday 15th November 2005
Team: West Bromwich Albion
Stadium: The Hawthorns
As mention in the Molineux tour
I was down in the Midlands for a work trip and took advantage to visit
a ground which although I've seen many times I've never actually stopped
and looked around.
The Hawthorns must be one of the easiest grounds to find, with it being only a minute off the M5 motorway. I parked up on Halfords Lane but Iwas disappointed to find the gates locked behind the The Smethwick End.
The stadium looks fairly modern from the outside, although most of the stands look fairly similar. I found the Birmingham Road End the most impressive one. The floodlights are one of the better set I've seen too.
As it was getting dark quickly and being close to 5pm when staff would be on there way home I didn't ask to see if I could be let inside the stadium so I popped into the club shop and then headed for my hotel for the night.
Statistics
Stadium character: 7/10
