Barnsley Ground Tour

Whilst going to the Sheffield
United v Portsmouth match I thought I'd take the opportunity to stop
off at 2 grounds I've yet to visit- Oakwell, home of Barnsley and later
on Hillsborough, home of Sheffield Wednesday.
Oakwell was easy to find coming off the M1 as it is well signposted and parking was plentiful behind the Pontefract Road End stand.
We walked around the outside of the ground and then managed to get inside as the groundsman were working on the pitch ahead of their game with Preston North End. I managed to get a few photos taken before being asked to leave as I could have been putting the photos on betting website's which would show people how to knock floodlight's off! Have you ever hear anything so daft!
Oakwell is a mix of the old and the new and is certainly a ground I am looking forward to visiting to take in a match.
