Doncaster Rovers Ground Tour
Date: Saturday 3rd Febraury 2007
Team: Doncaster Rovers
Stadium: Belle Vue
It
was advertised as being one of the main car parks to use for our match
at Doncaster's new stadium, so not needing another excuse we parked up
at the now closed Belle Vue.
The stadium when in use was old and in great need of improvement, now it was even worse. We were able to enter the stadium via the terrace and we weren't the only ones who had ventured in. One man was digging up a section of the pitch and taking it home with him, while a few others were taking photos.
We walked around the ground, and into the main stand and even popped into the catering facilities for a pic!
The stadium wasn't very safe, with lots of wires handing from the main stand and you had to be careful where to put your feet with the amount of glass on the ground. It was no surprise to hear that a few days later that there was a gas explosion in the main stand.
Statistics
Stadium character: 6/10
Wish to go back to stadium: Not possible!
